No where does the spirit of family exist more than it does in Memorial Day School’s Upper School. Upper School Coordinator Pam Gross can brag about growing up at Memorial where her mother Tammy Rowell served as our first Headmaster. Upon graduation from Memorial Day School, Mrs. Gross returned to her alma mater where she is among the most respected and remembered faculty members of over 1200 alumni.
The upper school program provides learning for life, both in and out of the classroom. Memorial Day provides a rigorous college preparatory curriculum with emphasis on encouraging a thirst for knowledge by promoting critical and creative thinking and opportunities to venture beyond the campus with service outings in the community, interscholastic competitions in both the fine arts and athletic events. All students are challenged to excel at the highest levels possible and many enroll in Honors, Advanced Placement and joint-enrollment with local colleges and universities. The close personal attention through small classes ensures that students are challenged appropriately and guided in their work. Assisting students in finding the right match for their abilities and goals as they pursue higher education is a priority. Memorial Day School graduates are equipped with the necessary skills to continue their learning at distinguished colleges and universities throughout the country.
